Since 1997, Ben Woodward has traveled as a musician and singer, a songwriter and worship leader. Beginning with the band “Alabaster Box” in Australia and continuing as a solo artist when he moved to the USA, Ben’s award winning songwriting and leadership has led him around the world. Blurring the lines between singer/songwriter, rock and pop, Ben navigates the musical waters with soaring, intense vocals and driving, catchy melodies. But the music was only ever a useful tool to him.
“I love playing music, but I have a greater love. I want people to encounter Jesus. If the best way to to do that is by singing or writing a song, then I will do that. If there is another way to do it, I will focus my energy there. At the end of the day, I don’t care if people remember my name as long as they remember the name of Jesus.”
Ben’s authentic worship style mixed with a modern rock edge impacts the heart. From acoustic offerings such as “How We Love You” and “One Voice, One Piano” to heavily produced albums such as “Maranatha” and “This Beautiful Life”, Ben’s music is a distinctive blend. As a songwriter, Ben has been recorded by artists such as William Matthews (Bethel Music), Jonathan Mills, Justin Rizzo (IHOP-KC) and Alan Powell (Anthem Lights). His song “Son of a King” was recorded and performed on the Feature Film “The Song”.
In addition to his writing and recording credits, Ben has produced and co-produced projects for The Rock of Roseville and Amy Gottlieb and is a co-producer on many of his own projects. His most recent project, “You Never Let Go-Live at the Rock of Roseville,” showcases his production and directorial skill at work.
